2016

The beginning

In 2016, a four-story building rose within the compound of Esteban Abada Elementary School that will soon be the planned Senior High School for the Performing Arts.

But it was not long after that when it responded to the community’s aspiration to have its very own senior high school.

It was Dr. Leila V. Ancheta who was assigned to guide it through its first steps as a new school. But just as a child takes its first initial steps, finding a firm stance and balance did not come easily with the challenges that came with them. By that time, the faculty was composed of 7 senior high school teachers with one section for each strand, HUMSS and ICT.

2017

the expansion

In 2017, the four-story building in Esteban Abada Elementary School was ready to be occupied. There were 8 sections in grade 11 who enrolled in different strands (HUMSS A, HUMSS B, ABM A, ABM B, ICT A, ICT B, STEM, and Performing Arts) together with the two sections in grade 12 HUMSS and ICT.

It was Dr. Arliana A. Arboleda who took charge of the school, which was then called Senior High School Within Esteban Abada. During her time, the STEM section was then transferred to San Francisco High School as per the instruction of the QC Schools Division Office. Her administration was later on replaced by Ms. Irene SF. Canon, who then took the reins.

2018

official recognition

In 2018, the school received the typology of stand alone and on August 31 at the same year, Lucrecia R. Kasilag celebrated its birth centennial as national artist. This was the time that the school was officially named after her.

Presently, Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School continued to make reforms under the supervision of Ms. Canon. These reforms include the school structures and the improvement of the facilities.

2019

continuous progress

With continuous progress in 2019, Esteban Abada Elementary School’s Mathay hall was officially turned over to Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School by former Superintendent Natividad Bayubay. The building is currently used by grade 11 and 12 Performing Arts students.

Plans and projects for the school’s total reform are lined up, but the changes that Ms. Canon was aiming for did not stop. She continues to demand excellence not only from the students but from teachers as well; her motherly principal to the school inspired all to strive harder and perform at their very best.

Lucrecia R. Kasilag Senior High School continues to build on its achievements while embracing new opportunities for growth and development. The school remains committed to improving its programs, facilities, and learning environment for its students.

With dedication and strong leadership, the school continues to inspire both students and teachers to strive for excellence. Its journey moves forward with a vision of creating a stronger school community and a brighter future.
